Cards Jeff Sent to Me

Over the years, Jeff sent cards to me and always wrote something personal to me
on them.  Some were lost during my move, but the ones I found I've put down here.
Jeff was a very loving son to me and he loved his family with all he had.

Jeff was a man who kept his word and who helped everyone who needed help.  He was loved by all who knew him.  I don't know why his life was taken from him, or why he had to give his life at such a young age.  Perhaps God used him to get through to those on death row.  I guess it's something we'll never know.

My boys loved me and I'd have taken either of their places in a heartbeat.  I remember them talking one day and they said they didn't want to be here when it was my time to go.  This was after my mother had gone to heaven two years before Jeff was taken.  It gives me chills to think they both said that and both are gone before me and I had to live through them both leaving and the years after.

“Mom, Just wanted to wish you a very happy Mothers Day and say how much I love you. You go above and beyond the definition of Mother. The sacrifices you have made for me and the pain I have put you through, yet not once have you complained or not been there for me. 

Words could never express my love for you, nor the pride I feel in calling you Mom.  There is nothing in life that I want except in exchange for your love.  When weighing the good I’ve had in life you alone outweigh any injustice that comes my way.  I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone. 

For having you for my mother, I thank God and know in my heart that I have been blessed.  I am happy and thankful mom you are the best and I love you more than life itself.  You make me proud and give me the strength to stand tall.  You are my friend and always in my heart.  Have a happy Mothers Day and know that you will be in my thoughts.  I pray that you always have peace of mind and know only happiness.        “Mom, just wanted to wish you a happy mothers day and say how very much I love you. There could be no greater Mom to be found on the face of this earth. Some times I wonder why God has punished me for something I haven’t done, but then I realize that He hasn’t punished me, but rather blessed me with the greatest mother that ever lived. And I would rather be behind these walls and have you for my mom, then to be free and not have you.

For to not have you for my Mom and best friend would truly be a prison I couldn’t stand.

         I thank God he has blessed me with you and I pray He blesses you for all the lives that you touch and all the pain that you have suffered in this lifetime. You are truly one great woman, with the strength, wisdom and love in your heart. You have blessed many, and mom I couldn’t be prouder of anyone else. 

The pride and love I feel in my heart when I hear your name being mentioned is beyond measure. You are my greatest friend and confidant and I love you with all my heart and soul. Yes, when I think that God could have given me any other mother in the world, yet he gave me you. 

I realize how greatly he must have med me and blessed me. I wouldn’t change a thing. I only pray that God allows me to pay you back one tenth of the joy and happiness that you have given me in life. Mom, you are the greatest and I love you so very deeply. Have a wonderful mothers day and may all your dreams come true. I will be with you in spirit. God blessed me with the greatest mother around. I am so proud to be called your son and grateful that not only are you my mother, but you are my best friend. I get my strength and faith in God from you. 

Mom, all my life you have been there for me and I would have been lost without you. I don’t believe I have ever really thanked you for all you have done for me, but from the bottom of my heart, I love you and I know God will richly bless you for the woman you have always been. “Mom, Another year passes and I find myself thanking God for having a mother as special as you. Words just cannot describe the love I feel for you. Without you I would be nothing, you give me my strength, love, faith and hope in life. 

I know of no other as strong, loving and understanding as you. I feel like the luckiest man alive that God graced me with a mother as special as you.  For if I didn’t have you to call Mom, I would damn sure sell my soul to get you for my mother.  I could never repay you a fraction of all you’ve given me in life. I can just be thankful for life.

 I want for you to always know happiness and have the best life has to offer. “Well Mom, another year has come and gone and you continue to fight the hard battle, though it’s been uphill all the way. 

Your knees have never weakened. You have given up a lot in life to fight this war, yet you have never complained or lost hope. In the military you would be a five star general for the war you have waged over the past eighteen years. And I’ll tell you something; I’m damn proud of you. 

I pray to God that He blesses you for all you have done in life and all the lives you have touched. You are loved by many and respected by all and there is an army of people who would die for you. I wish this war would end so that you could take a well-deserved rest. I ask God to hear your prayers and to send you the happiness in life that should be yours. 

Your strength inspires me and to hear your name fills my heart with pride. But most of all I just thank God that I can say, ‘Shirley Dicks, that’s my mom.’ You’re number one in my heart.
